Design and Execution of Jallianwala Baug, Non-cooporation and Chauri Chaura Galleries: Offish

The Museum is part of The Gandhi Research Foundation. It is an experiential museum narrating the story of Gandhian 'Ideas' through his life story. We are honored to be part of this project.

We were allotted approx 70'X25' area in this museum and the brief was to conceptualize, design and execute three galleries, spatially depicting three milestone events from Gandhiji's life - The Jallianwala Baug Massacre, Non-Cooperation Movement and the Chauri-Chaura Incident.

On a personal note the project allowed us to revisit the Mahatma's life and philosophy. Professionally, it was a truly refreshing break from Art 'Directing'. For a change this project was not as rushed as Art direction for TVCs. So we decided to keep the specialized set construction workforce involvement to its minimum and get our own hands dirty. Teamed up with some Art College buddies and had a blast for a month and a half with clay, resin, plaster and paint.

The Museum was inaugurated by the Hon'ble President of India Smt Pratibha Patil on 25th March,2012
